In 2015, the Himalayan Cataract Project’s ambitious work of eradicating the world’s preventable blindness was spreading far beyond its original vision, and the organization was faced with a challenge: How to maintain its unique identity even as its work was expanding beyond the Himalaya and beyond cataract surgery? Flannel created a naming and identity convention — along with a fully redesigned, highly visual website — that celebrates the unusual founding story while clearly positioning the organization as a global player in developing high-quality eye care throughout the developing world.
